Pretty Philips remote controls all in a row. Front row, left to right, the new Pronto Neo, the original Pronto, and the Pronto PRO announced at CES 2001. In the rear we see, left to right, the optional base station/charger for the original Pronto, the IR/RF extender for the Pronto PRO and the base station charger for the Pronto PRO.

A closer look at the Pronto PRO system.

The original Pronto has given rise to the sharing among enthusiasts of configuration files which they have created using the optional Pronto Edit software (see our review). The monochrome display of the original Pronto has limited the creativity of those pioneers in some respects, but with the advent of the Pronto PRO and its optional software, Pronto PRO Edit, the world of colour is now available. This image shows a PC running Pronto PRO Edit. I am not sure what the screen displayed on the emulator does but I would guess that it's something to do with ordering food. Maybe we should get hold of this .ccf file for Lexicon's Bart LoPiccolo? []
