MOXI
Steve Perleman, founder and CEO, announced MOXI, the name of his new company and rolled out his latest brainchild of the same name. It is a home integration solution that will be sold to cable and satellite companies. It combines a cable or satellite receiver with a PVR, home LAN and home control system using a unique 'fuzzy logic/learning' interface.

|
The Linux based interface stores not only your lifestyle preferences but also how you use the system over time, it can then anticipate your inputs as it learns how you work and play. The LAN can be wireless, coax, CAT5, or twisted pair.

Sirius Satellite Radio
Encore number...whatever, or the format wars has commenced. In the far corner is Sirius Satellite. Not as well known as the competitor who has been around since last fall. Sirius offers sixty 100% commercial free channels of cross-country continuous radio. The new CEO, Joe Clayton, ex-CEO of RCA/DSS understands what it is to be the dark horse and how to come from behind. He believes marketing - not first to market - will win the day. Sirius offers a blend of unique original programming including latest hit channels for all the popular music genres. They broadcast forty specialty stations including news (CNN, CNBC), sports (ESPN, BBC Sports), A&E, Discovery, and more. It sounds like cable TV without video. Sirius believes they have superior broadcast technology that will produce higher fidelity in the automobile. The have patented S>Plex (statistical multiplexing). This system uses an adaptive multiplexing to provide more bandwidth for the frequencies that each type of content requires. []
