A&R Cambridge (Arcam)
Arcam introduced new and improved versions of its FMJ and Diva line DVD players. The new FMJ27 Plus and Diva DV89 Players will not only maintain the same high standards, but will also have the ability to playback DVD-Audio discs.

Even better, to maintain its standards of upgradeability, owners of the older FMJ27 and DV88Plus will be able to upgrade to allow DVD-Audio compatibility by using a card shown here on top of the new unit. These new cards and the new units should be available during the first half of 2003. Once upgraded, rear panel connections include the required set of 5.1 analogue outputs (right).

Also in the Diva line, the company introduced a new version of their already popular AVR100 Receiver. Named the AVR200, it adds Dolby Pro Logic II decoding and 5.1 external inputs for the use of DVD-Audio and SACD players. Geoff Meads, Arcam’s export sales manager (right) explained that as with the DV88 and FMJ27, there will be an upgrade available to owners of the AVR100 to allow them to utilize the new features of the AVR200 by way of an add-in board.
