Super Audio CD Press Conference On Friday night, an SACD press conference was held at the Baby’s Night Club in the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas. Jos Bruins, Director of Marketing, Philips Standards and Licensing (Netherlands), introduced proceedings.
David Kawakami, the SACD Project’s North America Director revealed that Pink Floyd’s legendary album ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ will be released worldwide as a single inventory, hybrid layer multi-channel SACD.
Paul Bishow, New Formats Launch Director for the Universal Music Group, also told the attendees at the SACD News Event that it takes quite a bit of time and planning to prepare a new SACD release.
Leslie Cohen, Vice President, Business Development for Sony Music Entertainment, announced that Sony Disc Manufacturing (SDM) will install a new Hybrid Super Audio CD (SACD) production line at their U.S. manufacturing facility in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Jeff Jones, Senior Vice President, of Legacy Recordings announced that Legacy would be issuing 15 classic Bob Dylan albums on SACD. For more information on all these stories, see the High Fidelity Review web site. []
